The AMTE Tech Talk Blog is an active space where AMTE members share their research and stories about implementing technology-based tools in their work with preservice teachers, in-service teachers, and/or students. At the beginning of 2025, Liza Bondurant and Bima Sapkota detailed how video conferencing platforms like Zoom, with features such as Speaker View and Gallery View, have enabled educators to self-record lessons. Using these recordings, educators can closely observe nonverbal cues, student engagement, discourse patterns, and participation, allowing mathematics teacher educators and the teachers they support to strategically reflect on and refine their instructional practice.
Throughout this academic year, we look forward to sharing short videos of mathematics teacher educators explaining ways in which they use technology to support mathematics teachers and students. Do you have an engaging technology resource? Please consider writing a brief AMTE Tech Talk Blog. Posts are typically around 500-750 words and are curated by the AMTE Technology Committee. We would love to share your success stories!
