Research Resources Available for Members

Resources for the Membership

We have a number of resources for AMTE members, which can be found on the Research tab of the AMTE website. The Research tab includes three sub-sections: Useful Articles, Getting Personal, and News and Updates.

Useful Articles, includes a bibliography of mathematics teacher education articles grouped into the following categories: elementary methods and content, secondary methods and content, professional development, and MTE development/doctoral courses. If you have a resource to suggest, please send the citation to Tonya Bartell at

Getting Personal, has interviews with mathematics teacher educators. The two most recent interviews are with Randy Philipp (he discusses his career and his work with the Integrating Mathematics and Pedagogy Project, IMAP) and Beth Herbel-Eisenmann (she discusses using action research to focus on classroom discourse). Past interviews with Rochelle Gutiérrez, Barbara Reys, Eric (Rico) Gutstein, and Karen Karp are also available.

The News and Updates section includes a list of important dates for conferences and proposal deadlines of interest to the AMTE membership. It also includes a brief summary and upcoming deadlines for various NSF solicitations.

We Want to Hear from You

Please let us know how the Research Committee can support you in engaging in scholarship, in developing as a scholar, and in using research effectively in your practice. We want to hear about whether the existing resources are useful, ways they could be improved, and what else we can do to support the membership. Please send comments or suggestions to Mathew Felton-Koestler at
