Assistant Professor Mathematics Education
Xavier University, a Catholic university in the Jesuit tradition, invites applications for a tenure track position in elementary mathematics education at the assistant professor level in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, starting in Fall 2007. Applicants should have a doctorate in mathematics education or a related field by August 2007. Advanced study or a graduate degree in mathematics and teaching experience in K-12 classrooms are preferred. Primary teaching responsibilities are for undergraduate mathematics courses designed for the preparation of pre-service elementary and middle school teachers. Candidates must be committed to outstanding teaching at the undergraduate level, to scholarly activity that encourages student participation, and to service consistent with the mission of Jesuit higher education. A complete application includes a cover letter, a statement of teaching philosophy, a research plan, curriculum vitae, all graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation.
