Learning and Performance Support Laboratory

The Learning and Performance Support Laboratory (LPSL) (http://lpsl.coe.uga.edu/) is pleased to announce a tenure-track research position at the Assistant/Associate level beginning Fall 2007. We seek an individual with outstanding accomplishments in, or potential to advance innovations in teaching, learning or performing. The successful candidate will primarily develop and maintain a research and development agenda appropriate to his or her interests, including developing proposals for external funding and project implementation, disseminating research through writing and presentations, mentoring graduate students, and collaborating with faculty on research activities related to the Lab's mission. In addition, the candidate will contribute to the mission of an academic department, where appointment, tenure and promotion will be determined based upon the candidate’s background, expertise and interests.

 

The LPSL is an interdisciplinary research and development unit of the College of Education and The University of Georgia. Researchers affiliated with the LPSL include faculty from across the university, K-12 educators, and industry. LPSL researchers, individually and collaboratively, advance research, theory and practice related to technology’s roles in interactive learning environments, teacher preparation and school reform, and assessment. Lab R&D focuses on technology’s potential to improve teaching, learning and performing across subjects areas (e.g., science, mathematics, etc), age-grade levels (e.g., children’s learning, adult professional development, etc), and settings (e.g., pre-12 schools, universities, corporate training, etc).

 

Required Qualifications:

·         Earned doctorate at the time of appointment

·         Experience in developing and researching applications

·         Established or emerging program of research related to lab’s mission

 

Desired Qualifications:

·         Experience in proposal writing

·         Experience in collaborative R&D

·         Experience in grant and contract settings
