Position: Mathematics Program Officer
The Knowles Science Teaching Foundation
(KSTF), a rapidly growing multimillion-dollar foundation in
KSTF seeks a hard working, hands-on
Mathematics Program Officer to assist in the planning, coordination, and
management of the Mathematics Teaching Fellows program.
The ideal candidate for this position has a mix of a strong understanding of mathematics
education, deep and extensive mathematics content knowledge, high school
mathematics teaching experience, skill in working with beginning high school
teachers, and holds or is completing an advanced degree in mathematics,
education or a related field. Applicants should be self-motivated, able to set
clear priorities, to initiate projects and follow them through to completion in
a timely way, and to respond flexibly to the foundation's needs as they arise.
Applicants should have strong communication and writing skills, be able to
interact effectively with the foundation's various constituencies, as well as
the staff, and should have experience with various office technologies
including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities involve the management of groups of about 15 Mathematics
Teaching Fellows including recruitment and selection of yearly cohorts,
planning and conducting Fellows Meetings, online and telephone communication
and classroom observations. The Mathematics Program Officer will interact
routinely with the Program Officers for Mathematics and Science and report to
the Associate Director of KSTF.
Salary is based on education and
experience.
