The faculty of the Indiana
University Bloomington, Curriculum and Instruction Department, Mathematics
Education Program announces a tenure-track mathematics education position at
the rank of assistant professor to begin in August 2007. Appointment at the
associate level might be a possibility if qualifications warrant. We seek a colleague who will conduct research
in mathematics education and contribute to the teaching and service missions of
our department. In addition to
undertaking an active research agenda, initial responsibilities will include
teaching undergraduate elementary mathematics methods courses, graduate mathematics
education courses, and mentoring graduate students.
Located on an
extraordinarily beautiful campus in a delightful small city, Indiana University
Bloomington (IUB) offers its students, faculty, and staff a rich array of

Currently, the Mathematics
Education Program consists of eight faculty: Catherine
Brown, Enrique Galindo, Signe Kastberg, Peter Kloosterman, Diana Lambdin,
Richard Lesh, Frank Lester, and Anderson Norton. (For more information about

Required: An earned
doctorate in mathematics education (or closely related field) by the start
date, strong promise of productive scholarship, and an ability to work
collaboratively with university colleagues and school district partners.
Desired: Experience
teaching at the pre-college level and experience with diverse populations.
