Hello.
I have learned that a book, Workplace Mobbing in Academe , is being published this fall; it gives attention to occurrence of mobbing on our Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus.

I am told by a leading researcher in the this area that it will be of particular interest to us here at SIUC.

MOBBING is...

*  EMOTIONAL ABUSE in the workplace.

*  "Ganging up" by co-workers, subordinates or superiors to force someone out of the workplace through rumor, innuendo, intimidation, humiliation, discrediting, and isolation.

*  Malicious, nonsexual, nonracial, general harassment.

I am reviewing research literature about this now, for further information. Perhaps later I can share what I find.
